Beginning with yoga, suggests Ilchi Lee

There is nowhere to start but the beginning. There’s a saying that when we begin to do something, it’s half done already. We worry about our health, but it’s hard to start to do something good.

I want suggest starting a practice like Dahn yoga. Consistent practice is the best way to take care of our body and mind. I’m sure Ilchi Lee knew that when he created the practice.

Responsiblity for all

“You are sacred. All peoples are sacred. Everything is sacred…
We are all accountable and responsible for what we see around us, because, as
we are all are connected and related, everything we do, think and say
affects everything and everyone else.”
Little Crow, 1933-2004

What my brain focuses on it will find and create…the words I have found lately in my travels reflects this Brain Education principle. I have been finding many words from people other than Ilchi Lee who say similar things. These words by Little Crow (I’m actually not sure who he is at the moment) reflect Ilchi Lee’s level of responsibility for his life and the world. It is this level of responsibility that he teaches his students. It’s the same as– what is in your brain will be reflected in the world around you

Wow, I found a website called Brain Based Business! Someone else is saying something similar to Ilchi Lee. It feels good not to be alone. Soon Brain Education will be common sense. The author believes people can re-wire their brain for peace. Here is a good quote from it:

“You can re-pattern your brain and live a new you…. Start by changing one old belief that holds you back and you’ll be ready for new stepping stones forward….brain 5.gif

Re-adjust your brain chemicals for well-being… for instance… and you’ll begin to burn strong rather than burn out…”

Endorsement for Ilchi Lee

This is also from www.ilchilee.com. It is an endorsement from Seymour Topping for Ilchi Lee. It reminds me of what I appreciate the most about Ilchi Lee…that he spread what he discovered for himself. He had the dedication to share the great joy and vision he found with everyone. He really believed in himself and his vision of a peaceful world. And he had the training history and the ability to create tools so that anyone with the will to do so could experience their true self, even those who had never even thought about it before. Some people start doing ki energy exercises because they want their body to be healthier and fit, but because their body and their brain are connected they find so much more. They find their peace inside.

“For Ilchi Lee, enlightenment is not some obscure mystical path attainable only for those few who sit meditating on a mountaintop. He offers a common sense way to fulfillment for every individual. His philosophy guides us to a peaceful world in which all living creatures are accorded respect and compassionate treatment.”

Three rule of the Brain Operating System (BOS)

Boundless future awaits you.
You are capable of creating the future as you wish.
It is possible for your brain to do so. The power of your brain is unlimited.
Depending on how to use your brain,
If you want, you can create either happiness or unhappiness.
You need to be aware of these three laws to use your brain well.

The first law of Brain Operating System (BOS) is that it comes true whatever you choose. I want you to have conviction taht anything you choose comes true. There has been no better period when we can show our unlimited possibility and creativity. So, you are very fortunate people.

The second law of BOS is that good news makes a good brain. If a brain keeps listening to good news, it becomes a good brain. Have good thoughts in your brain at all times, and create good news. It becomes meaningless if you just keep the good news to yourself and don’t share it with others.

Trust yourself and share any good idea whenever you have one. Most importantly, act upon your good idea. This is how we make our life better and create the world more beautiful.
Your brain is your life itself.
All of the memories have been ingrained in your brain. If you don’t use your brain well, imagine how sad your brain would become.
You are the owner of your brain.
A brain will show its ability when it meets a wise owner. If an owner isn’t wise, her brain will not become wise.

The third law of BOS is to pull yourself together and become aware.
Check whether you are using your brain well or not. See what plan you have to achieve your dream. If you already have a plan, then check whether you are taking action. If you are acting upon your dream, then check whether your action is productive, creative, and beneficial for yourself and others.
Only then does your action become desirable.

~Ilchi Lee

As usual…amazingly simple and powerful at the same time. Obvious and not actually.

Meditation for enhancing brain function

This is from the fan blog of Ilchi Lee, ilchileebest.com. I thought it was a good approach to life and a good way to train your brain. It stops the clutter in your mind so you can focus deeply and live life more fully. You can hear your natural instincts, or inner knowing, more clearly.

A way of meditating to keep my brain healthy and functioning well

I also recommend cultivating a state of relaxed concentration whenever possible.

You could try this with all sorts of things-washing dishes, cleaning a floor, driving a car-but I think walking is especially effective and easy for everyone.

The idea here is to approach what you are doing as if the activity itself were a meditation. In a state of relaxed concentration, you become very mindful of each movement that you take, and extremely focused on the task at hand. As a result, the rest of the world seems to melt away, and your mind and body naturally relax.

In the case of walking, you can walk very slowly, feeling every muscle move. Focus on how your body shifts and adjusts its weight, and notice the content of your mind as you focus. Practicing this regularly will help you create a calmer and more focused mind. - Ilchi Lee

Great post from the Mountain View Dahn Yoga Site about Human Technology. Breathing makes a happy brain!

Everybody lives a breath of fresh air.
Human Technology by Ilchi Lee

summary p.46

“Everybody lives a breath of fresh air.
When we let the fresh air in our body, we feel awake, refreshed and energized.
Actually this is all about breathing?
breathing in fresh air and releasing the toxins.

Breathing is mechanical.
It occurs automatically.
You don’t have to think about breathing.
It happens by itself.
It is what our body does.
Exactly in the same fashion, thinking is also mechanical.
Thinking occurs automatically.
You don’t have to think about thinking.
It is a routine of the brain.
It is what the brain does.
Moreover, just like you can control your respiration, you are able to conrol how the brain thinks?
although both are somethng that very few people do.”

I’m thinking how important the brain is… we need to know how to breathe right.

Becoming self-reliant helps you help others

Quote from Human Technology by Ilchi Lee:

“I hope that I have been clear that self-reliance has nothing to do with being antisocial or egocentric.  Self-reliance is about unleashing your creativity from its source in your highest self. The purpose of HT is not to make you independent of your fellow human beings. Rather, HT is designed to awaken us all to our mutual interdependence.[...]The point is to nourish and grow our interdependence in the most effective, healing, and enjoyable ways possible.”

focus on ourselves

Ilchi Lee: Focus on Yourself
From a translation of Ilchi Lee’s book The Power of the Brain

Without a goal, we have no choice but to endlessly chase after the thoughts of others. We envy those who know more or have more than we do, and we live out our lives completely forgetting our own brains. Such things happen to us often unless we are focused on ourselves.

If we focus on ourselves, instead of chasing after others we have something to give to others that benefits everyone. Win-win.

Help children to explore their life purpose

“The most precious gift we can give our children is to let questions of the purpose of their existence grow naturally in them, and respond to their questions with the wisdom we have gained from our life experiences. Of course, our answer doesn’t automatically become theirs. They will each find their own path in life. It may be vastly different from ours, or it could be one that is an extension of our experience. In either case, having a sincere exchange about our passion and life purpose gives our children confidence. Their trust and respect for us will grow.”

From www.ilchilee.com. Another reason why we need to live with passion and purpose: to teach it to our children. Sometimes it is easier to do something for others than it is to do it for ourselves.

Creative power

An inspiration to share with you. It sounds like we are Power Brains!

To have initiative is to possess the power of original conception, the power to create something that no one else has ever created….Everyone is born with this God-given power. ~P.Yogananda

Powerbrain

Ask Your Brain

If you want to know
Why you were born
Ask your brain.
Any difficulties you face
Any problems you need to solve
Kindly and humbly
Ask your brain.

Your brain is the father of computers.
In your brain
Live hope and belief
Enlightenment and peace too.
Past and future
Heaven and hell
Are all in your brain.

- Ilchi Lee, Songs of Enlightenment

At first I was a little taken aback by the line, “Your brain is the father of computers.” It seemed so dreary….but then when I looked at what this meant from a bigger perspective, I could see the tremendous beauty in this statement. We were all born with this very powerful tool to create and keep choosing the type of applications we want to use — hope, belief, enlightenment, peace, past, future, heaven, hell…to create exactly the kind of life you want for yourself.

Now THAT is a real powerbrain. :)

Peace in the Brain and the world

When we utilize healing energy rather than killing energy we can achieve Peace in the Brain, Peace in the World. I’d love to share this great inspiration by Ilchi Lee.

Peace

“It is now time to acknowledge the ultimate and core value that is capable of encompassing and superceding the partial and prejudicial orientation of the current value systems of the world. It is the one that can become a fulcrum point that will allow balance, harmony, and peaceful coexistence of all people. This is the Earth. The Earth cannot be claimed by any one group or organization regardless of its size or power. If humanity can be said to share one collective vision, it would be peace on Earth. This collective vision may also be our hope for survival in the very near future. To realize that we are all Earth-Humans…this is the key.”

It is easier to talk than to hold one’s tongue.
Greek Proverb

What do you think? Is this true?

Laugh on cue, train the brain

“One method for tricking the brain is laughter training. It’s not laughing because we have something to laugh about. This training is just about letting out bursts of laughter. Anyone can laugh when they have something to laugh about. But that isn’t making active use of the brain. Laughing even when we have no reason to laugh, that is a way to trick and make use of the brain. It reacts the same whether we laugh because something is funny or just laugh. If we just laugh, we’ll find that we feel better, our health improves, and things genuinely worth laughing about come our way.”

- Ilchi Lee, Know Your Brain, Know Happiness

Once in college, a friend said to me, “I like being friends with you because you laugh so heartily at all my lame jokes.” For a long time, I’ve had a habit of laughing for and smiling at people, not necessarily because I’m so amused or happy but just for the sake of doing so. For some time, I tried to correct this because I thought I was being “fake,” but I finally came to realize that once I start creating the action of smiling and acting, it draws out happiness from within me to change my mood. From continuing to watch this type of change within myself and also doing laughing exercise for training my brain, I’ve learned now to have more complete ownership of my emotions, so that I can actually choose happiness and bring out heartfelt laughter, regardless of what negative emotions may first surface.
