Ilchi Lee founds institute for Korean studies

Mar 21 2011 Published by under Brain Education,Ilchi Lee Event

For centuries, technology, the arts and philosophy have progressed somewhat independently in Korea compared to the rest of the world. This has created a rich vein of culture that is unique to the peninsula. In order to share this one of a kind knowledge with the rest of the world, Ilchi Lee founded the Korean Institute for Cultural Studies in 2004.

On June 5, 2004, the center celebrated its launch with a ceremony in a four-story building in Cheonan City, South Korea. The proceedings marked the beginning of what would become a major hub of Korean thought.

The center offers lectures primarily concerning Korean history and Korean philosophy. It is intended to be on the front lines of a movement to for traditional Korean studies.

The culture has a lot to offer in the way of worthwhile studies. Ilchi Lee has said that many of the cornerstones of Korean culture, such as meditation, may be a step in the right direction in the world's pursuit of peace on Earth.

Symposium seeks to unlock human potential through brain education

Mar 18 2011 Published by under Brain Education,Ilchi Lee Event

In an effort to spread the word about the importance of brain education, Ilchi Lee has hosted or organized many events throughout the years that focus on brain wave vibrations and how individuals can use this achieve their full potential.

For example, in 2004, he hosted the International Brain Science Symposium. More than 600 participants gathered to discuss ways they can unlock their human potential and hear Ilchi Lee talk about brain wave vibration.

The theme of the event was Brain Science and its application for the 21st century humanity future. Many of those in attendance expressed the belief that brain education programs will come to play a very large role in the future.

As science unlocks more of the mysteries of the mind, humans may be able to take advantage of the findings to increase their potential and build a more harmonious society. This may involve a world where individuals have put aside their national, religious and cultural identities to live as true Earth Citizens.

Events like this serve to remind people of the importance of using their minds to achieve personal development.

Peace conference helps Ilchi Lee spread message of peace

Mar 14 2011 Published by under Brain Education

Ilchi Lee believes that the only way to bring about peace on Earth is for every individual to leave behind the false labels of religion, nationality and ethnicity that divide people and begin living in harmony as united citizens of the Earth. Only then can true world peace be achieved.

In furtherance of this goal, Ilchi Lee has hosted many events aimed at educating people on ways they live lives that foster peace and unity rather than division and conflict. For example, in 2003 he organized the Humanity Conference Earth Human Forum.

Many esteemed individuals attended the conference, including former Costa Rica President and Nobel Peace Laureate Oscar Arias Sanche, Senior Advisor to the Secretary General of the United Nations Maurice Strong and administrator of the Pulitzer Prizes Seymour Topping.

The goal of the conference was to discuss ways to organize a global cultural movement that could further the cause of connected living and peace among nations.

Ilchi Lee has hosted many such events focused on the cause of peace over the course of the years. Perhaps someday they will help substantiate his vision of a world that lives in harmony.

Ilchi Lee drives cross-country to lecture at MIT

Mar 10 2011 Published by under Brain Education,Ilchi Lee Event

When individuals think about the great halls of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, most would have images in their minds of engineers hard at work or chemists toiling in laboratories. However, people may not think about pursuits of spiritual healing.

Yet, in 2001, the school played host to Ilchi Lee as he delivered his message of health to a crowded audience. The event was part of his Healing Society Forum, in which the author and philosopher discusses with other intellectual and curious members of the public on the important role of spirituality in today's life.

The event was made even more remarkable by the circumstances under which it took place. It was held on September 16, 2001, just days after the horrific terrorist attacks that occurred in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania. During this period, all flights in the U.S. were grounded. In order to keep his appointment in Boston, Massachusetts, Ilchi Lee drove for 48 hours straight from Los Angeles, California.

This dedication allowed Ilchi Lee to bring his message of spiritual healing to the world renowned MIT and enabled him to share his inspiring stories.

Groups work for world peace

Mar 08 2011 Published by under Brain Education

With all the violence and fighting that pervades the media, it can be difficult to imagine that anyone cares about the cause of world peace anymore. Rather than coming together to celebrate common humanity, it seems that people are more interested in exploiting their differences to tear each other apart.

However, this is not necessarily the case. Ilchi Lee has organized many conferences to discuss with political and spiritual leaders from around the world ways to encourage greater peace, love and respect.

For example, in June of 2001 Ilchi Lee hosted the first World Peace Humanity Conference. More than 12,000 individuals from around the world came to the event to discuss ways to further the cause of peace. The meeting also resulted in the ratification of the Declaration of Peace, a document that lays out the rights and responsibilities of true Earth Citizens.

Former Vice President Al Gore, former editor of the New York Times Seymour Topping and civil rights activist Reverend Wyatt Tee Walker all attended the event.

While the media may play up instances of violence and destruction, individuals can feel assured that organizations are working to further the cause of world peace.

Conference outlines methods for achieving spiritual growth

Mar 02 2011 Published by under Brain Education,Ilchi Lee Event,World Peace

Given that there is so much hurting and strife in the world, it is no wonder that so many people feel adrift without any sense of life purpose. However, these individuals may take comfort in the fact that some groups are working to help them find a meaningful place in the world that gives them a chance to pursue their life dreams.

For example, on June 15, 2001, spiritual leaders from around the world met in Seoul, South Korea, to attend the New Millennium World Peace Humanity Conference. At the meeting, leaders talked about ways to bring humanity into the new millennium with a greater sense of connection and shared goals.

The event, which was organized by author and philosopher Ilchi Lee, resulted in the Declaration of Humanity. This document states that an Earth Citizen is a Spiritual Being, a Child of the Earth, a Healer, a Protector and an Activist.

Organizers, including Ilchi Lee, said that inspiring more people to pursue this type of lifestyle is one of the best ways to ensure greater peace throughout the coming years. It may also enable people to attain spiritual growth.

Scholarships help students chase personal development

When an individual pursues personal change, it is important for them to remain mindful about how their actions affect those around them. Improving the self has little relevance if it comes at the expense of another's happiness

For this reason, philosopher and author Ilchi Lee recently announced that his school, Global Cyber University will offer 50 percent scholarships for all students, which may help many individuals go after their goals of personal development.

The school offers classes in global business management, human services and Korean cultural studies. Aside from regular business lessons, each class offers students insights on how they can use their newly acquired skills to serve the world and make it a better place.

The HongIk Scholarship takes its name from this guiding principle. It comes from a Korean phrase that means "people who provide a wide-benefit for the betterment of the world."

Education plays a major role in Ilchi Lee's thoughts on spiritual growth. It is impossible to develop the self without working to improve the world, and a strong education can give individuals the skills to accomplish this.

Prayer of Peace brings spiritual healing to the masses

The world is in need of healing and spiritual awakening. However, most people are so worn out by the end of the day that the only thing they have energy for is watching some TV or listening to the radio. Yet, it can be difficult to find any programming that encourages spiritual growth on mainstream media.

To combat this, philosopher and author Ilchi Lee recently brought his Prayer of Peace to national radio in Canada. The was originally written and read for the 2000 United Nations Millennium World Peace Summit of Religious and Spiritual Leaders.

"The work of healing the pain and hurt and resolving the conflict and struggle on this earth begins with each of us," Lee said. "If each of us chooses health, happiness and peace and takes action, the earth will become a more beautiful star than ever."

To this point Ilchi Lee has brought his message of personal development to millions of people through his Prayer of Peace. This past New Year's Day, more than 2,100 individuals gathered to participate with Lee in a reading of the prayer.

Ilchi Lee Reveals the Lost Symbol

Feb 15 2010 Published by under Brain Education

“What if I told you that a thought … any tiny idea that forms in your mind … actually has a mass? What if I told you that a thought is an actual thing, a measurable entity, with a measurable mass? A miniscule mass, of course, but mass nonetheless. What are the implications?”

“Hypothetically speaking? Well, the obvious implications are … if a thought has mass, then a thought exerts gravity and can pull things toward it.”

Katherine smiled. “You’re good. Now take it a step further. What happens if many people start focusing on the same thought? All the occurrences of that same thought begin to merge into one, and the cumulative mass of this thought begins to grow. And therefore, its gravity grows.”

“Okay.”

“Meaning … if enough people begin thinking the same thing, then the gravitational force of that thought becomes tangible … and it exerts an actual force.” Katherine winked. “And it can have measurable effect in our physical world.”

This excerpt is from Dan Brown’s latest novel, The Lost Symbol. Refreshingly, the The Da Vinci Code author has chosen many New Thought concepts, including those that happen to be taught by Ilchi Lee, as the theme and message for his new book. Compare the above to Ilchi Lee’s rules for your “Brain Operating System” or BOS:

  1. Good news makes a good brain.
  2. Choose it and it will happen.
  3. Stay awake and pay attention.

These rules acknowledge the creative power of our brains, and remind us to pay attention to what we are thinking, and to keep it positive and focused on what we really want. They acknowledge that, as Dan Brown writes:

“We are creators, and yet we naively play the role of ‘the created.’ We see ourselves as helpless sheep buffeted around by the God who made us. We kneel like frightened children, begging for help, for forgiveness, for good luck. But once we realize that we are truly created in the Creator’s image, we will start to understand that we, too, must be Creators. When we understand this fact, the doors will burst wide open for human potential.” […]

Ilchi Lee has spent his career developing Brain Education to help people harness the true creative power of their brains. He’s also helped them open their hearts, so that they can choose goals that their hearts, their souls, want—those that benefit all humanity. Because he knows that:

“The most amazing part,” Katherine said, “is that as soon as we humans begin to harness our true power, we will have enormous control over our world. We will be able to design reality rather than merely react to it.”

Langdon lowered his gaze. “That sounds … dangerous.”

Katherine looked startled … and impressed. “Yes, exactly! If thoughts affect the world, then we must be very careful how we think. Destructive thoughts have influence, too, and we all know it’s far easier to destroy than it is to create.”

He’s also gathered people into a community who want to use that power to create a happy, healthy, and peaceful world. They focus and work together in harmony because they know, as Ilchi Lee has taught, that:

“…two heads are better than one … and yet two heads are not twice better, they are many, many times better. Multiple minds working in unison magnify a thought’s effect … exponentially. This is the inherent power of prayer groups, healing circles, singing in unison, and worshipping en masse. The idea of universal consciousness is not an ethereal New Age concept. […]

Through Brain Education workshops such as Shim Sung, Ilchi Lee has enabled people to experience this truth personally and viscerally. He has helped them find the lost symbol inside themselves so they can make it their own and endeavor to live it. Mr. Lee believes that when 100 million people in the world are doing this, a critical tipping point will be reached, and the consciousness of humanity will shift to embody this truth.

I’m grateful to Dan Brown for using these concepts in his novel, because I think novels are great purveyors of ideas—Animal Farm, Atlas Shrugged, 1984, The Way of the Peaceful Warrior, The Celestine Prophecy. All have made people think about powerful concepts, or at least made them more common parlance in our society—a critical step toward the shift in consciousness the characters in The Lost Symbol predict is on the horizon.

Just 100 Million

Feb 08 2010 Published by under Brain Education

All of humanity has a shared spiritual heritage, which is only natural because we all came from One. Realizing the Oneness of Heaven, Earth, and Humanity is not an intellectual or even philosophical endeavor. You need to feel it with every single fiber of your being, imprinted onto every one of your cells through profound experience of energy. That’s why Ilchi Lee developed Brain Education and has worked for 30 years to share it with the world.

He knows that only when enough people experience Oneness can we really come together as a society, as a people, and as Earth Citizens. The time for the chosen few is over. The whole of humanity needs to realize the truth for us to change the fortune of the human race.

But we can start with one hundred million. One hundred million is a critical mass, just a little more than one percent of the total population of the Earth, the tipping point to a mass realization of every individual’s true nature and for what we should live–love for humanity and love for the Earth. Instead of killing and competition, this strong community of Earth Citizens Ilchi Lee has been working to form will engage in acts of healing to uplift our collective human consciousness until we are indeed living in Heaven on Earth.

To realize this dream of a spiritual civilization and peaceful Earth requires the will, discipline, and fortitude to see it through to its completion. It also requires training people so that they can experience Oneness and have the strength and ability to share it with others. These people will raise the consciousness of 100 million Earth Citizens and gather them together in one exemplary community.

Ilchi Lee’s Philosophy of the Soul

Feb 05 2010 Published by under Brain Education

According to Ilchi Lee, before you were born, your perfect soul was fully connected to the universe, existing in a state of emptiness and nothingness. When a soul is born into a body, it is separated from the divine, and so generates feelings of loneliness and dissatisfaction. But when you connect your soul to universal energy, or Chunjikiun, your loneliness vanishes. Your soul is happy basking in Yuln’yo, the light, sound, and vibration that forms the source of all life.

The root of your soul lies in your True Self, the essential, unchanging part of you. The root of your True Self lies in Chun-Ji-In, the Heaven-Earth-Human triumvirate that is One. To listen to your soul is to get in touch with your True Self.

Covering your True Self, is your False Self—all of the information and emotions in your brain. It is your philosophy, value system, and personality; it is your body and mind, and the illusion that life and death are distinct and separate. Your False Self is a mask manufactured by your ego for protection. It’s something you build on and construct throughout life to have a role to play in the world. Your False Self craves safety, recognition, and control. Your True Self on the other hand craves the highest forms of human interaction, such as unconditional love and harmonious unity with others.

People’s life struggles stem from the inherent discord between the True Self and the False Self. When people believe they are their False Self, they are denying or are unaware of their own infinite power. On the other hand, when your True Self acts as the master of your body and mind rather than the False Self, you are tapped into the creative potential of the universe. As you follow your True Self, you will let go of your instinctive need for safety, recognition, and control, and replace these desires with the desire to be Hong-ik, or widely benefitting others.

The True Self’s purpose in this life is the completion of your soul, known as Chunhwa in Korean. When your soul is complete, you truly feel happy and at One with the creative divine energy of the universe. When a body dies, a complete soul returns to this energy; an incomplete soul becomes a ghost or reincarnates again.
Completing your soul is a life process for which you must be aware of this life purpose and follow four steps:

  1. Train your brain to be peaceful and healthy.
  2. Develop relaxed concentration, or the capacity to concentrate, strongly and consistently, which can be only achieved through focused and rigorous training.
  3. Use your brain with 100% effort.
  4. Unleash the full creativity of your brain to manifest the dream of benefitting your and everyone’s life to actualize a harmonious and peaceful world. This dream is known as Hong-ik Ingan Ee-hwa Saegae.

As you develop your soul, your consciousness expands, meaning the love that is your true nature expands. Love is the unifying element that bonds people together. When we are able to love widely and unconditionally, our True Self will shine more brightly in the world. As our ability to love others grows, it radiates outward from us, reaching farther and farther in its ability to touch others. As love grows, it follows this basic pattern of expansion: self ➛ family ➛ country ➛ the world. The expansion of our consciousness renews our lives, gives us hope, and leads to a beautiful future.

Ilchi Lee’s Powerfully Peaceful Presence

Ilchi Lee with Flute at the Brain Art Festival 2009 at Radio City Music Hall, NYC

There are many comments and testimonials on http://dahnyogavoice.com, and among them I found this one about Ilchi Lee. I agree with the writer–you can’t fake Ilchi Lee’s presence of peace and unconditional love. I thought the readers of this blog should see the comment because it is the direct personal experience of someone who does not work for Dahn Yoga or Ilchi Lee:

16 | Linmayu Raye
01/07/2010 at 9:43 pm

I had the good fortune to meet Ilchi Lee in person at a training in Sedona. His quiet, spiritual presence filled the entire hall with peace like I’ve never felt before.

It is impossible to fake such a presence. It is impossible to have such a powerful presence without being a human being of integrity. So I was surprised when on the way home from the training, I saw the CNN story on a big screen at the airport. The Ilchi Lee depicted on that video was not the same as the man that I had met. On TV, they edited the photographs to make him look like a money-minded, conniving person. I promise you he is not that kind of person at all.

In four months of Dahn Yoga training, I have received more physical benefit than from any other gym, class, or doctor that I have ever been to. My body felt old and stiff and painful; now it is as limber as a child’s. My emotions are much more balanced than before, WITHOUT the need for antidepressants. I am happier and many people have told me that I look better.

The allegations of brainwashing are quite honestly a ridiculous joke. The only messages I’ve received from Dahn practice are of being true to myself and creating peace and love and happiness and health in the world.
Of course, peace and love and happiness and health don’t sell advertising.

Ilchi Lee Poem from Mago’s Dream

Jan 30 2010 Published by under Brain Education

This poem came from Ilchi Lee’s book Mago’s Dream. I think it sums up his philosophy nicely, pulling together aspects of the brain, of energy, of humans, of the earth, and the true meaning of enlightenment.

Sun is light, thunder is sound, and wind is vibration.
Light, sound, and vibration are the reality behind all existence.
Wade upstream to the source of humanity
And you shall find light.

Light is the beginning of our life.
Movement of light created sound.
And movement of sound created vibration.
Our life is light, sound, and vibration.
Without time or space.
When everything begins
And where we must return.
Our soul is light, sound, and vibration.

Trapped behind the cage of body
Hidden under the cover of emotions
And imprisoned behind bars of thought
Its light feeble and unseen
Waiting for escape and freedom.

What is enlightenment,
If not recovering the original light?
Light of life, light of the soul,
What we call mysterious and fantastic,
Refers to self
Our own root and source
Which we have forgotten
Leading to loneliness and despair
Loss of the soul

A battle of souls
All lonely and lost
Wearing armor of religions
Wielding swords of ideologies
Shooting arrows of prejudice
Slaves, one and all
Ignorant of enlightenment that will set us free

Only a free soul can continue the path
Only a free soul will finish the journey
Growth of soul can be achieved through good deeds
Perfection of soul can be attained only with
enlightenment

Becoming one with the Earth
That is the key to perfection of the soul
Whose secret you possess already in your brain.

Stress Relieving Power Techniques For Students

Jan 21 2010 Published by under Brain Education

Students experience serious amount of stress especially during peak study periods and examinations. This stress leads to less productivity and may cause further problems during their academic life. Students mostly do not even have time to try stress reducing techniques because they are so busy studying.

Study with work to manage your expenses is another reason to cause burnout. When a student is doing a job and also working hard to complete his/her academic syllabus it causes hazardous situation for their mental and physical health.

Considering the scarce amount of time that students have, I have included few power techniques in this article to help them reduce their stress levels.

Small Naps

Take small naps at regular intervals while working or studying. Deprived sleep is a BIG reason for students to have stress and feel burnout. Due to deprived sleep students lose their productivity. If you are a busy student, a small nap after regular intervals is a must for you. Give your mind some rest and it will be more productive and efficient.

Exercise Program

Exercise is the healthiest way to lessen work stress. Create a proper exercise program for you. Start going to gym or practice Dahn Yoga. You can go to campus on foot or on bike. Exercise program can help you live a healthier longer life, create an exercise program now, work at it your life to stay fit and stress free.

Listen to Slow Music

Listen to your favorite slow melodies to stay in rhythm and reduce stress. Music can be a good stress reliever; it can help you calm your mind and heart. Students can play soft melodies while studying to be more productive and stay relaxing.

Live a Clutter Free Life

Staying organized can reduce stress. It’s a fact that clutter causes stress. Many students get low grades due to cluttered living area; they even have cluttered study areas. Create a minimalist lifestyle; start living a clutter free life to become calm as you need to study with concentration.

Your Eating Habits Are Very Important

Eating Habits are not considered as stress relievers but they a healthy diet is necessary for a healthy mind. A good healthy diet can give your brain more energy to do more workouts. Consequences of poor eating habits can be devastating. You do not need extra time and effort to improve you eating habits.

Be Optimistic

Dahn Yoga is an organization with women as a large majority of its members, instructors, managers and executives and takes violence against women seriously, especially sexual assault. Optimism always helps to keep your mind healthy and stress free. Optimists do well in life then pessimists; they become more successful, have good relationships and off course get better grades.

Headache Relief from Brain Education

Nov 16 2009 Published by under Brain Education

Sometimes it can seem to come out of nowhere like a blinding flash of pain, other times it starts with a dull ache and gradually builds until it is unbearable. A headache, whether it is common or a migraine, usually has its roots in tension caused by stress or poor posture. It begins when the energy flow of your body is reversed. The natural flow of energy in your body is cool energy flowing up to your head from your kidneys and warm energy flowing down from your heart to your lower abdomen. When warm energy flows to the head, your head can feel hot and blocked, causing a headache.

You can do a quick self-check of your energy flow by putting one hand on the back of your neck and the other on your lower abdomen (Dahn Jon). If your neck is warmer, your energy flow is reversed.
When you have a headache or other symptoms of reverse energy flow, you can do some of these Brain Education exercises to bring the hot energy down from your head and feel better.

Two acupressure points you can press at the start of a headache are the Gallbladder 20 (PoongJi) points at the base of your skull in the back of your head. Press up into your skull strongly with your thumbs at these points. Repeat until you feel your pain lessen or disappear entirely.

Toe Tapping
Toe tapping restores the natural flow of energy in the body and helps you sleep more deeply and restfully.

  1. Lie down on your back with your heels together and ankles flexed.
  2. Tap your big toes together, then open your feet so that your little toes tap the floor. Repeat as rapidly as you can.
  3. Begin with 100 repetitions and increase the number as you practice.

Pressing Temple (Tae-Yang) Acupressure Points

  1. Using your thumbs, press your temples five times slowly.
  2. Then using the pad of your hands, tap your temples thirty times.

Holding strong postures designed to draw energy down from your head, such as Sleeping Tiger, are also effective for relieving headaches. Sleeping Tiger is a lying posture done on your back with your arms straight up into the air, elbows bent slightly and wrists bent at right angles so that the palms face the ceiling. The legs are also raised with the hip, knee, and ankle joints at 90-degree angles. Stay relaxed and focused on the lower abdomen. Exhale through the mouth while you hold the posture. Start with holding it for five minutes if you can, and then increase the amount of time as the posture becomes easier.

While holding the posture, you may experience various sensations such as muscle fatigue, joint pain, heat, cold, burning, shaking, and vibrating. You may also experience emotional responses such as anxiety, fear, calm, and peace. These sensations often change. Within reason, it’s best to hold the posture for as long as possible. Ilchi Lee advises, “Try to enjoy these physical responses, as they are actually positive signs that the body is releasing toxic energy and becoming healthy and strong.” The emotional responses are also signs that blockages unhealthy energy is clearing.

To help prevent headaches from beginning in the first place, strengthen the energy center in your lower abdomen (Dahn Jon) with ongoing practice. Intestine Exercise, Dahn Jon Tapping, Sit-ups, and Jung Choong Breathing are very effective for creating and maintaining a strong center and a healthy energy state. Whenever you do these exercises, keep your mind focused on your dahn-jon, which is two inches below your navel and two inches inside your abdomen.

Intestine Exercise
Benefits: This exercise will increase the flexibility of the intestines and facilitate efficient circulation of both energy and blood. If you also tighten your rectal muscles during this exercise, you will be able to gather energy and feel warmth much more quickly.
Note: You should not overdo this exercise in the beginning since it may result in some discomfort.

  1. This exercise can be performed standing up or lying down. When standing up, keep your knees slightly bent and toes turned slightly inward. When lying down, lie on your back with your legs shoulder-width apart.
  2. Form a triangle by touching your thumbs and forefingers together and place them lightly on the lower abdomen.
  3. When pulling in, pull as if the front wall of your abdomen is trying to touch your back. Tighten your rectal muscles at the same time.
  4. Then, push your lower abdomen out slightly, making it more round. You will feel outward pressure in your lower abdomen.
  5. Repeat the movement. Start with one set of 50 and work your way up to a set of 300 as you advance.

Dahn-jon Tapping
Benefits: By rhythmically patting the lower abdomen with the palms of both hands, blood and energy is distributed throughout the entire body. Abdominal exercises will assist in the prompt removal of excess gases and waste from the body, and you will feel increased warmth in the Dahn-jon, as well.

  1. Spread your feet shoulder-width apart and bend your knees slightly.
  2. Lengthen and relax your spine. Relax your shoulders, neck, and arms.
  3. Point your toes slightly inward and feel a slight tightening of the lower abdomen.
  4. Rhythmically strike the lower abdomen area with both palms.
  5. Begin with 100 strikes. You may increase the number and force of the strikes with more practice.

Ilchi Lee’s Tip for Negative Emotions

Sep 26 2009 Published by under Brain Education

Ilchi Lee spends most of his time devising simple yet practical ways to help people manage their lives more easily and effectively. Some of these ways he put in his book, Principles of Brain Management: A Practical Approach to Making the Most of Your Brain.

Here is one tip from the book for managing negative emotions:

“It may be difficult at first to redirect your emotions in a positive direction. You may find yourself returning to the destructive emotion, even after you have made up your mind to change. Remember, though, that it is just a habit of the brain that keeps bringing you back to that point. As with any habit, it will take time to practice and break it.

To keep yourself on the positive track, find a way to remind yourself of the constructive action that will replace the negative emotion. For example, you might want to get a small stone and write an inspiring word on it. Or wear a ring that reminds you of your promise to yourself. Every time you see it, your mind will be redirected in a more positive direction.”

Ilchi Lee’s Martial Art Form, DahnMuDo, Now on DVD!

Sep 18 2009 Published by under Brain Education

Before his enlightenment, Ilchi Lee was actually a black belt in Tae Kwon Do from a young age. As an adult, he ran a physical health training center for a little while that included martial arts. After his enlightenment, one of the training methods he developed to help people feel the universal principles to which he had been enlightened was a non-combative, healing martial art he called DahnMuDo.

DahnMuDo, like other Brain Education methods, establishes the proper, healthy flow of ki energy in the body, which leads to optimal health of body, mind, and spirit. Students of DahnMuDo develop lower bodies that are both physically and energetically strong. Their upper bodies feel unburdened and relaxed, with energy that feels diffuse and merged with universal energy. Their posture becomes straighter as their bones and muscles become aligned. Their dahn-jon, or core, becomes very strong and supportive of their hearts and brain.

There has been great demand for a training aid that DahnMuDo students can use to learn and study at home. Now the publisher of Ilchi Lee’s products, BEST Life Media, has created a 3-DVD set to supply that demand. The trainer on the DVD is Master Owoon, the leading DahnMuDo trainer who developed the DahnMuDo School curriculum and who manages DahnMuDo training around the world. In the DVDs, Master Owoon not only teaches students the proper DahnMuDo forms, but gives profound insight and instruction into energy principles not often heard elsewhere.

The DVD set will be available on September 30, 2009, but BEST Life Media is offering pre-shipping for pre-orders on their website. In the meantime, you can get a brief taste from this trailer:

Ilchi Lee’s Brain Art Festival a Success

Sep 17 2009 Published by under Brain Education

On August 15, 2009, Ilchi Lee shared his vision of new values, a new culture, and a new world with almost 4,000 people at Radio City Music Hall. Through his Brain Art Festival, hosted by the International Brain Education Association (IBREA) and the Korea Institute of Brain Science (KIBS), of which Lee is president, Ilchi Lee showed people that the potential of their brain is limitless. Since our brains create our problems, but our solutions as well, the potential of our society and our world is also limitless. Through our brains we can create an ideal world in which people work harmoniously together to benefit all.

At the festival, Ilchi Lee showed the audience how they can tap into their brain’s potential with Brain Wave Vibration. He lead them in a Brain Wave Vibration training, demonstrating a new way to do it to music composed by Arang Park specially for this event. The music incorporated a sound recording of the blood flow in Ilchi Lee’s brain during deep meditation.

The Benefits of Brain Wave Vibration

Sep 09 2009 Published by under Brain Education

Beyond the principles and theories that underlie Brain Wave Vibration, the most important aspect is the benefit you receive through actual practice. If you practice sincerely and with an open mind, I think you will be surprised how soon you will be¬gin to experience benefits.

The best way to understand the benefits of Brain Wave Vibration is to actually do it. In the back of this book you will find detailed instructions and suggestions that will help you make the most of the practice. Nevertheless, you can actually start right now, right here while you are sitting here reading this book. All you have to do is put this book down and gently shake your head back and forth. Close your eyes and concentrate on the movement of your head going back and forth. Just focus on the natural rhythm for one or two minutes—back and forth, back and forth. Go ahead—put the book down.
