Aerosmith has had a long career, but their most famous song is still most likely "Dream On," the rock ballad that seems to always endure. Whether it's being sampled by Eminem or showing up in a sports highlight video, even those who weren't born when the song was written have likely encountered this classic tune.
While many rock groups can be a bit dark in their messages, "Dream On" actually carries a very positive message that is in line with Ilchi Lee's teachings. The refrain is "Dream on/dream on/dream on/dream until your dream comes true." It's a simple thought, but one that many people still do not follow.
Much like Stephen Tyler, Ilchi Lee also supports following your dreams: "Deep inside your heart, pure love remains, as well as hopes and dreams." Aerosmith's song adequately ties in the concept of hopes and love as well to the repeated use of the word dream. The concept of love is especially present in the famous line "All the things come back to you."
It might seem like just another classic rock anthem, but sit down and think about the lyrics and Aerosmith isn't too far off from suggesting a bit of spiritual growth themselves.

The Korean culture has a lot to offer to the world in terms of knowledge, art and philosophy. In order to make these teachings more accessible to people, Ilchi Lee recently founded the Korean Institute for Culture Studies, or Kookhakwon, which is run out of Cheonan City, South Korea.
The Institute specializes in the traditional teachings of Korean history and philosophy. It began as a non-profit institution in 2002 as part of a movement of popularizing traditional Korean learning.
Ilchi Lee is known for spreading the principles of this culture to the world through his own lessons. He says that by focusing on mind-expanding efforts, including meditation and yoga, an individual may gain greater knowledge about themselves and the world around them than they could ever hope to learn from books.
However, the lessons offered at the institute go well beyond this. They teach students about the traditional underpinnings of these types of ideas. Students may gain insight into the functioning of the societies that gave rise to these ideas. Through this process, spiritual growth may be just around the corner.

College students are used to hearing lectures about topics in math, science and literature. However, few are exposed to the importance of world peace during the course of their regular degree work. In 2004, author and philosopher Ilchi Lee tried to change this.
He went to the University of Cologne in Germany to talk to a group of students at the school about Peacology and Brain Respiration.
These subjects play central roles in the teachings of Ilchi Lee. He says that there are few things as important in life as focusing on peace and working to encourage harmony with all that a person does in their life.
As college students, the individuals he lectured at the university are likely going to move on to careers in which they have an opportunity to shape the world, at least to some degree. Bringing this message of the importance of world peace to tomorrow's leaders could help the planet develop in a much more harmonious direction. Efforts like this could one day bring about fulfillment of the dream of world peace.

Ilchi Lee says that individuals’ brain potential is nearly limitless. Various people have proven time and again that the mind is capable of many things that most people would be unaware of. However, scientific understanding of this reality is lacking.
In order to further the cause of using neuroscience to understand brain potential, Lee recently helped organize and host the International Brain Science Symposium, which was held in Seoul, South Korea in 2004.
During the event, the Korean Minister of Science and Technology announced that we would pledge financial support to efforts to further neuroscientific understanding of the human mind and its full potential.
While their have been some breakthroughs in recent years when it comes to gauging the depths from brain potential, there are still many mysteries. These types of awareness efforts could play major roles in stimulating further research and developing a more complete understanding of how the mind works.
Lee says that everyone has a tremendous amount of brain potential, and that they should focus on trying to unlock this ability.

While securing employment is undoubtedly seen as a victory these days, it does not mean that one's career path is set, as a new survey indicates that approximately half of U.S. workers are unhappy at their current jobs.
CNN reports that the report, published recently by consulting firm Mercer, indicates that nearly one-third of American workers are considering leaving their current jobs, an increase from 23 percent six years ago.
The survey also noted that 21 percent of the 2,400 U.S. workers said they have a negative view of their employer and have "checked out" of their position, for the most part.
Mindy Fox, a senor partner at Mercer, told the news source that this seemingly new world of disgruntled employees can have serious negative effects on companies.
"The business consequences of this erosion in employee sentiment are significant," she said.
Bloomberg reports that another recent study regarding employee satisfaction, which was conducted by SBR Consulting, found that younger workers in the U.S. have a more optimistic view about their potential for discovering new career opportunities.

The human race is inextricably connected to the Earth, but too often people do not recognize this relationship. They fail to to show the planet the respect and love that it deserves. This in turn may hinder the prospects of peace on Earth.
However, author and philosopher Ilchi Lee has worked tirelessly to change this. He has long advocated an increased understanding of shared fate of humanity and planet Earth. As part of this advocacy, he recently spoke at the Meeting with Mago event.
The purpose of the event is to help more individuals understand the importance of respecting the planet they call home. Mago is thought to be the personification of the spirit of the Earth, and Lee’s talk sought to engage individuals with this concept while teaching them why it is so important to take humanity’s stewardship of the planet so seriously.
Currently there is a lot of talk about the importance of environmental protection, but there is little action taken. Events like the Meeting with Mago help shine a brighter light on the subject to people from around the world.

It is commonly thought that martial arts exist only for self defense and actions involved in violence. However, the activity can often be used to channel energy and encourage spiritual growth in the practitioner.
Such is the case with Ilchi Lee’s Dahn Tae Kwan Do. This discipline combines aspects of the traditional Korean martial arts style with the author and philosopher’s own knowledge and understand of how to channel the life energy that surrounds everything.
In order to highlight the benefits of this martial arts discipline, Lee recently held a competition for those who practice it. The event was held last May at Kookhakwon, a nonprofit Korean studies institute in South Korea that was founded by Lee.
The competition gave individuals a chance to show off their skills and to help others learn the benefits of training in Dahn Tae Kwan Do. The practice may have a strong upside for individuals who are looking to reach within themselves and develop a better understand of who they are as a person and attain a greater degree of spiritual growth.

Ilchi Lee says that life is made up of a range of small particles that vibrate in synchronicity to produce the world that we all see around us. In order to help more people get in touch with the energy that produces these particles, he recently released a new meditation kit intended to help those pursuing personal development.
“Within every living being, kernels of ki (life energy) vibrate at infinitely varied frequencies, giving rise to the universe as we know it,” Lee said. “I call these LifeParticles, the smallest unit comprising all life. These particles move through space and time to transmit the information that gives rise to the diverse phenomena of life.”
The meditation kit, which was made available at Sedona Story, a local retail location in Sedona, Arizona inspired by Lee, helps individuals get in touch with their ki. It teaches the principles that individuals need when endeavoring to get in touch with the deeper meaning that surrounds them.
By mastering the principles contained in the meditation kit, individuals may be able to attain a much higher level of fulfillment in their lives.

Ilchi Lee says that peace will only be achieved when the people of the world put aside their difference and begin treating each other with respect and dignity, regardless of their religious, national or cultural background.
These teachings are increasingly catching on, as evidenced by the fact that local lawmakers in the city of Honolulu, Hawaii recently proclaimed a day in April Earth Citizen Day.
The Earth Citizen movement was started by Ilchi Lee as a way to convey to people the importance of identifing themselves first as a member of the human race and second as a part of other religious, ethnic or cultural groups.
Ilchi Lee says that these institutions often serve to divide people and are the basis for much of the conflict that exists in the world. However, by joining together in celebration of the commonalities that exist in humanity, the world may become a more harmonious place.
These were the benefits that the city of Honolulu was reaching for. With its diverse population, this type of mindset could be a major benefit to the people of the city.

There is a tremendous power in nature, and author and philosopher Ilchi Lee says spiritual growth can flow from efforts to tap into this energy. In order to help more people experience this type of development, he recently helped open a new store in uptown Sedona, Arizona that is intended to connect people to the power of the natural world.
The retail location, known as Sedona Story, offers visitors a chance to browse items ranging from natural crystals to spiritually inspired art created by the local creative community.
The store held a grand-opening event last month that featured dancing, readings and other displays intended to get the local community interested in the power that is held in the store's products. The shop's manager Hansori Keliikuli even performed a hula dance for patrons.
At the center of the establishment's mission is a goal to inspire more individuals to look at the natural world that surrounds them and appreciate its power. While reflecting in this environment, many new realities may become clear to a person. The store's inspiration, Ilchi Lee, says that spiritual growth is assured to those who engage in this type of practice.

On August 2, 2002, Ilchi Lee was invited to a Meeting with Mago Event as a keynote speaker, where he spoke about humanity's deep, mind-body-spirit connection with the earth. He addressed thousands of supporters about the importance of realizing the role the world plays in all of our lives.
This is also the topic of the 1997 hit anime film, Princess Mononoke, which details the conflict between the need of humans to continue striving forward with new technology, despite any costs to the surrounding environment. It is a fantastical movie set in the Muromachi period of Japan and proved extremely popular in Japan and abroad.
Most striking of all is the beautiful nature on display in the film. The beautifully rendered trees and ancient forests communicate the timeless and mystical qualities of the earth. The protagonist, Ashitaka, must come to terms with the constant battle between new technology and the way that humans abuse the earth, which is symbolized by a war between ancient animal-gods and a town that recently invented the latest in firearms.
Princess Mononoke has won more than 20 awards. Film critic Roger Ebert listed it as one of his top 10 films of 1999.

Military veterans who suffer from post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) often face the difficult struggle of trying to maintain a sense of normalcy in their lives. While there are treatments available, new research may have more soldiers trying Ilchi Lee's lessons in Dahn Yoga, as meditation could help them reduce their symptoms.
The study, published in Military Medicine, suggests that veterans from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars were able to reduce their stress symptoms by 50 percent after meditating for eight weeks. The researchers noted that although the research only used a small pool of five veterans for the study, they saw the positive results as a good sign.
"Even though the number of veterans in this study was small, the results were very impressive," said lead researcher Norman Rosenthal. "These young men were in extreme distress as a direct result of trauma suffered during combat, and the simple and effortless Transcendental Meditation technique literally transformed their lives."
Those suffering from PTSD may want to keep this study in mind and look into meditation techniques in order to help calm their symptoms.

Ilchi Lee's methods of meditation can help us channel our inner selves in order to grow as humans. By channeling this energy, we find that we are able to zero in on our daily tasks with a sense of calmness.
Country music superstar Dolly Parton recently told Music Rooms that she insists on taking the time to meditate before a show if she's feeling a bit anxious. Although she's been in the business for decades, Parton said that she still gets nervous before performing, which has caused her to rely on the relaxation technique before getting up on stage.
"If I ever get to the point of being nuts, I go off somewhere and pray a little bit and try to anchor myself and do some meditation and deep breathing," she explained to the news source.
Parton is not alone in thinking that meditating can help calm her down. The Mayo Clinic suggests that people experiencing stress or anxiety should take a quick break to meditate, as it is a fast way to help ease the mind from various problems.
