Ilchi Lee drives across the country to deliver address

May 27 2011 Published by under Personal Success

Dedication to a cause is one of the surest avenues to personal development. It teaches a person about the benefits of hard work and sacrifice and allows individuals to see the benefits of giving of themselves.

Ilchi Lee displayed this type of commitment shortly after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. He had been scheduled to speak to a group of students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston, but was in Los Angeles, California in the days leading up to his engagement. With all flights grounded, it looked as if he may not make his appearance.

However, it was decided that he could make the engagement by driving. He spent the next 48 driving nonstop from California to Massachusetts in order to keep his promise and deliver his talk on the importance of spirituality to the group of college students.

This type of dedication and commitment is not found every day. It can sometimes take years of cultivation and hard work to develop. However, when a person does live their life with this type of follow through, the personal development that takes place is likely to be its own reward.

Ilchi Lee teaches instructors new meditative practices

May 24 2011 Published by under Lifelong Learning

There are many different types of meditative practices that can be used to bring a person's mind and body back into alignment with their spirit. An individual could spend a lifetime learning all the different forms of the practice.

Fortunately, there are teachers who have put in the time and effort to master the various forms of meditation and are willing to instruct others in these ways. For example, in October of 2010 Ilchi Lee met in South Korea with 2,000 other instructors to teach them Jukbi Kigong and Yulyo Kigong.

These practices use various methods to bring the mind into sharper focus and are much different than what most people think of as traditional meditation. For example, in Jukbi Kigong, a short bamboo stick that is split down the middle in three places is used to help practitioners attain the proper meditative posture.

Ilchi Lee taught these meditation practices to these individuals so that they could then bring it back to their own communities and instruct their own students. By sharing this knowledge, the author and trailblazer was making it easier for people all across Korea to pursue fulfillment and satisfaction in their lives.

Ilchi Lee embarks on Mongolian adventure

May 20 2011 Published by under Peaceful Places

Ilchi Lee's belief that world peace will come from unity among cultures may seem like a new idea in today's divided world, but similar concepts have been around for centuries.

For example, in 2010, Lee embarked on a Mongolian adventure to investigate the roots of Korean culture. It is widely believed that modern Korean society stems from an ancient kingdom that once spanned parts of present day Mongolia, China and Korea.

The Dahngun Chosun dynasty, as the society was known, practiced a governing philosophy known as Hong Ik, or "to widely benefit." By setting out on this cultural adventure, Lee hoped to learn about enlightened principles and governing practices that could potentially be applied to today's societies.

Lee said that the advanced ideas he learned about on his adventure gave him inspiration that helped formulate new brain training programs.

While the Dahngun Chosun culture may have long vanished from the Earth, its ideas and practices may give current world leaders something to think about in terms of cooperating with neighbors and ensuring that the well-being of every citizen is guaranteed.

Ilchi Lee starts online university

May 17 2011 Published by under Lifelong Learning

Ilchi Lee says that brain potential is nearly limitless, and when this potential is paired with formal education, the results can be impressive. In order to make this type of opportunity available to more individuals, the author and philosopher helped start the Global Cyber University in October 2009.

Based out of South Korea, the country's Ministry of Education, Science and Technology officials granted approval for the institution to begin administering four-year degrees to students from around the globe.

During its time in operation, Ilchi Lee, who serves as the school's president, has helped steer many scholarships toward deserving individuals, opening the doors to a college education to some who may never have had the opportunity otherwise.

Students can earn degrees in one of three concentrations: human services, which teaches students on cultural well-being and senior care; global business management, where learners are taught the finer points of business and marketing; and Korean cultural studies, the focus of which is story-telling and cultural contents design.

With the opportunities afforded by the Global Cyber University, the students of Korean and the international community may be able to take their brain potential to the next level.

Ilchi Lee hosts Brain Art Festival

May 13 2011 Published by under Personal Success

Art has the power to stir the soul and inspire people to achieve things greater than they ever imagined possible. It is truly one of the defining characteristics of humanity, and continues to evolve in new and exciting directions.

In order to celebrate the human potential that is reflected in art, Ilchi Lee hosted the Brain Art Festival in 2009 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

The event was intended to highlight some of the latest achievements in mind-expanding art and to show the nearly limitless human potential for creativity. The festival featured musical performances, visual displays and dances.

Lee, who himself is a flutist, has said that creativity can play an important role in advancing the cultures of the world, and that the most effective way to unleash this inner force of creation is meditation. By looking inside one's self it may become possible to imagine new and interesting forms of art that continue to push humanity forward.

Given the fact that human potential is nearly limitless, all one must do is put in the effort. The festival was intended to be a celebration of those who have done this.

Ilchi Lee hosts event to highlight brain potential

May 12 2011 Published by under Lifelong Learning

Ilchi Lee says that just about anyone has the brain potential to achieve a heightened state of consciousness. All they have to do is put in some work to train their mind to get outside of its box and see the world as it really is.

As part of this message, Lee has hosted several competitive events intended to serve as a showcase for individuals who have achieved a state of heightened sensory perception. The fifth International Brain HSP Olympiad was held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York in 2009.

The competition involved events designed to test individuals' perceptive abilities. Heightened sensory perception is a state of consciousness that relatively few individuals have been able to achieve, but the fact that some have reached this point shows that it is possible.

Lee has devoted significant amounts of time to encouraging research into the phenomenon of HSP and has advocated mental exercises like meditation as a means to achieve it. The International HSP Olympiad was just another way for the author and philosopher to raise awareness of the state of mind and bring more attention to it.

Ilchi Lee hosts event to help individuals get in touch with their inner soul

May 10 2011 Published by under Healing Articles

It is not always easy for a person to decipher their life purpose. Many times is it is hidden from plain sight and individuals must go searching for it. However, there are some well-established ways for seeking this type of spiritual fulfillment and satisfaction.

For example, Chunhwa meditation has been used for years to help practitioners get in touch with their inner self and listen to what it is trying to tell them. In 2009, Ilchi Lee hosted a stop on the Chunhwa Meditation Tour in Nice, France.

During Chunhwa meditation, a participant seeks to deeply experience their true self. By opening up the lines of communication between the soul and the consciousness, an individual may discover their life purpose, which often leads to greater fulfillment in life.

The event in Nice was held to help more individuals become aware of the benefits of this type of meditation and to encourage them to practice it. If more people across the globe were to participate in Chunhwa classes, it could lead to a more enlightened population that feels complete and fulfilled.

UN meeting allows Ilchi Lee to explain importance of Brain Education

May 09 2011 Published by under Lifelong Learning

While many international aid efforts focus on providing for the physical and nutritional needs of those in less fortunate countries, few take the time to consider the mental needs of these individuals. However, Ilchi Lee says that brain health is at the heart of physical health and cannot be separated.

Therefore, he participated in the ECOSOC High Level Segment United Nations meeting between the Korean Institute of Brain Science, the International Brain Education Association and the Conference of NGOs to discuss the ways in which education and mental training can help individuals around the world.

The meeting represented an opportunity for world leaders to learn about the benefits of these types of initiatives and for nonprofit groups to begin thinking about ways in which they can incorporate mind education techniques into their programs.

Without allowing the brain to reach its full potential, the body will never develop fully. Furthermore, anyone who lacks this type of mental stimulation will have difficulty attaining fulfillment in their life. The meeting with representatives of the UN provided Ilchi Lee with an opportunity to explain these matters.

May 06 2011 Published by under Lifelong Learning

Ilchi Lee teaches the importance of brain education and that it is important that individuals work in order to push their minds to full potential in order to fully understand their trade.

When pursuing an advanced degree, some people choose a major that offers a number of opportunities, in order to ensure that they have higher chances of employment within a difficult market. The unemployment rate is so high, having credentials that can fit into a number of positions could be key.

Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) announced that it will offer a new bachelor's of arts degree in communications with concentrations in public relations and professional writing. Imagine by John Lennon reflects theme of peace, change

May 05 2011 Published by under Inspirational Stories

Ilchi Lee believes in peace throughout the world and this was a theme he communicated to the 2000 UN Peace Summit as a featured speaker. He administered a prayer of peace to better unite countries under one common sentiment.

This is the theme of John Lennon's legendary hit, Imagine, as well, a song that speaks about people shedding their differences and becoming united despite everything. He sings of a world that has no divisions and no shortages, because everyone shares everything.

"Imagine there's no countries / It isn't hard to do / Nothing to kill or die for," he says in a plaintive voice. "Imagine all the people / Living in peace…"

At the time of its 1971 release, Imagine peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and reached the top of charts in Canada and Australia. Lennon claimed that it is as good as anything he had ever written when he was a member of the Beatles.

Critics seem to agree – Rolling Stone listed Imagine as the third greatest song of all time in its list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

Ilchi Lee discusses ways seniors can preserve mental health

May 04 2011 Published by under Senior Health

Memory problems are extremely common among aging individuals. They can have a crippling effect on a person's quality of life and interfere with their plans to pursue spiritual development during their retirement years. However, there are many things that people can do to avoid these issues.

In 2008, Ilchi Lee provided 120 residents of Sedona, Arizona with a lecture on ways to keep the mind sharp in old age. The talk was titled Brain Education for Successful Aging and was part of a celebration of his new book, In Full Bloom.

Ilchi Lee has said that the human brain has a tremendous amount of potential, far more than most people are aware of. Tapping into this great reservoir of possible energy can help individuals maintain healthy brain function even as they grow older and their peers begin experiencing memory problems.

There are many methods that an individual can use to unlock their mind's potential and preserve mental function. Meditation has been recommended by Ilchi Lee for years as a way to grow and improve one's self.

Switch from career survival mode to ambitious mode

May 03 2011 Published by under Personal Success

Just as Ilchi Lee believes personal change is essential to maintaining balance in one's life, it can also be critical for one's career aspirations.

With the recent recession, many employees were simply worried about holding on to their jobs, but a recent CNN article recommends that workers get back to being ambitious rather than staying in defensive mode on the job.

Still, with companies hiring more qualified candidates, it will take quite a bit of extra work to gain that big promotion, so workers should make sure to exude additional energy and passion during their day-to-day activities at work.

According to the news source, one way for employees to get a jump on a potential promotion is to make a lateral move rather than simply looking to climb the ladder one rung at a time.

"Now it's about zigzagging your way to the top, vs. taking the elevator," Sarah Hathorn of career advising company Illustra Consulting, told the news source.

This strategy can be particularly useful for employees at small businesses, where growth was seen across the country last month, according to the Intuit Small Business Employment Index.

Creating a career path takes preparation

May 02 2011 Published by under Personal Success

Choosing a career path is one thing, but taking the necessary measures and evaluating one's situation on a regular basis can seem to be daunting task.

However, this task is a major portion of one's life purpose, so it is important to undertake the necessary preparations and ensure that one is in the best possible position to make his or her most important decisions.

According to a recent CNN article, one of the most important qualities people need to have when determining their career paths is self-awareness, which helps them to understand their situations and get an idea of what their ultimate goals might be.

"It's likely that you have, for example, always loved numbers or maybe you've always enjoyed helping people," Aricia LaFrance, a career consultant, told the news source. "Awareness of those threads can create a satisfying career path. Think life-long interests when it comes to career planning and you'll likely be happier in each job along the way."

It is also essential to re-evaluate one's goals during the process, as certain changes can have a lasting effect on one's career path.

New Year's Eve is a special occasion for people all across the world, and ceremonies to mark the day can be important way for individuals to affirm their spirituality and connection with their fellow man. For centuries, this occasion has been marked in South Korea by the ringing of Bosingak Bell.

In 2008, trailblazer and philosopher Ilchi Lee was lucky enough to be chosen to ring the historic bell to usher in the new year. The Bosingak Bell was originally built in 1396. After several reconstructions, it now is a major symbol of Korean culture and is rung at midnight on the first day of every year.

Crowds typically gather in large numbers in the area of the bell and it is one of the country's most enduring New Year's traditions. Thousands of people come to Jongno, where the bell is located, each year to hear it ring.

Ringing the bell gave Ilchi Lee a chance to connect with his heritage and history. Interacting with culture in this way can be a powerful force that jumpstarts a person down a road to spiritual development and fulfillment.
