Research agreement furthers study of heightened sensory perception

Mar 29 2011 Published by under Inspirational Stories

Some people are able to attain a level of sensory perception in their lives that the majority of individuals cannot imagine. This enables them to view things on the periphery that others would not notice, smell scents that are mostly undetectable and hear frequencies of sound that average people cannot.

This phenomenon, known as heightened sensory perception is poorly understood by science. In an effort to elucidate the reasons behind the occurrence, Ilchi Lee, the president of the Korea Institute of Brain Science, and Zang-Hee Cho, Director of the Neuroscience Research Institute at Gacheon University of Medicine and Science in South Korea agreed in 2005 to conduct joint research on the phenomenon.

Zang-Hee Cho, director of the institute, is heading up the research. He comes from a strong background of developing pioneering technology to create images of the brain. This could help scientists understand what is going in the minds of individuals with heightened sensory perception.

Furthermore, any findings that emerge from the research could lead to the development of new Brain Training programs that enable individuals to unlock their full human potential. This could help them experience the world in ways they never imagined.

UK corporal to trek across Mongolia to raise money for charity

Mar 28 2011 Published by under Inspirational Stories

Charitable giving is one way to encourage peace on earth. Ilchi Lee believes that spiritual healing is a key to finding inner peace, because change can bring about new potential in one person that can lead to improvement for many others.

Lance corporal Matthew Wilson has dedicated much of his time to raising 2 million pounds for the Help for Heroes and other charities in the United Kingdom by having an adventure himself, according to British Forces News. He has recovered remarkably since 2009, when he stepped on an IED in Sangin and lost part of his left leg.

Wilson plans to trek across the length of Mongolia on horseback, despite the fact that he has never ridden a horse before.

He is also planning to ride across the United Kingdom this coming summer, but some of that time may be spent in a World War 1 style ambulance, so he will be sure to have a unique experience during that leg of the journey.

Ilchi Lee has also visited Mongolia and believes that the difficult terrain can encourage people to unlock their growth potential. For a strong-willed individual, Lee believes "a difficult environment can become a catalyst or merely a minor obstacle to achieving your hopes and dreams."

Show your life purpose on your resume

Mar 25 2011 Published by under Personal Success

As Ilchi Lee pushes towards spiritual growth for our own being, a person's resume can be seen as their soul within the job market highlighting their life purpose.

Job seekers may see this element of the job search as a simple piece of paper detailing their work experience and skills. However, to approach it a different way may offer a slight advantage to candidates looking to fulfill a position in a competitive market.

A resume should be more than a list of dates of employment. It should be a window into a person's career aspirations and showcase their goals as a human being.

This is where using more action words and detailing their past roles in full come into play. An employer isn't just looking at someone who can do the job. They are also looking at candidates as humans and deciding whether or not that person would be a good fit within the company.

Skill and education can only get one so far. Eventually, it may come down to personality and one's life experiences, and whether or not the candidate gels with the interviewer.

Healing one’s self at Machu Picchu

Mar 25 2011 Published by under Healing Articles

Located high in the Andres Mountains, Machu Picchu is one of the most serene and mythical places in South America.

It is the perfect destination for solo contemplation; surrounded by ancient stone buildings and soaring mountain peaks, it's hard for travelers to not surrender to the awe inspired by such a place.

While there, people can experience the healing energy harnessed by the Inca civilization to begin a process of spiritual healing. Machu Picchu was built to connect directly with the environment – temples acknowledge the mountain landscape, stone calendars use the sun's light to dictate agricultural seasons and sculpted rocks mimic peaks.

There is a connection travelers feel to the Earth when they wander around the site.

Perhaps the best time to visit is at dawn, "when the sun's rays creep silently over the jagged silhouette, sometimes turning the distant snowy peaks fiery orange, and then slowly, with great drama, [casting a] brilliant light on the ruins," according to Frommer's travel guides.

Ilchi Lee preaches meditation as a form of spiritual growth; thanks to Machu Picchu's connection to the spiritual world and landscape surrounding it, the site is a wonderful place for silent contemplation.

Ilchi Lee reminds listeners that they all share an important common denominator

Mar 25 2011 Published by under Inspirational Stories

When people look at one another it is often easiest to only notice the things that divide them. Cultural, religious and ethnic differences are often immediately apparent and can serve to turn people off from each other. However, all too frequently, they overlook the commonalities that could serve to pull them closer together.

Ilchi Lee has long said that peace can only be achieved when people set aside these differences that divide and fully grasp those around them as their brothers and sisters. In order to spread this message, he spoke at the Meeting with Mago event in 2002.

As part of his address, Lee said that all humans have more in common with each other than they may be aware of. At the top of the list of commonalities is their connection to the Earth. The planet is what allowed their birth and continues to sustain their existence. Without it, no life would be possible.

This fundamental similarity could serve to lead people to spiritual healing, allowing them to understand that they are much more closely related than they may be aware of and that national and racial differences are often less important than people make them out to be.

Finding purpose in Maldives

Mar 24 2011 Published by under Personal Success

Discovering one's life purpose can be a difficult and exhausting endeavor, which is why many people choose to travel to peaceful destinations far from their home to gain clarity and perspective.

Located in the middle of the Indian Ocean, the Maldives is a small archipelago that exudes an atmosphere of relaxed luxury.

"Just lying on a deserted beach of a Maldivian island, taking in nothing but the continuous rhythm of the waves, the sea salt in the air and feeling the soft white sand on your bare feet is enough to sooth your senses," states VisitMaldives.com.

In addition to relaxing on the warm, sandy beaches, travelers can participate in yoga classes. These take place in huts that float on the sea or along the coast. Guided meditation sessions are also available for travelers, usually in the early morning.

Travelers who prefer to lead their own experiences could choose to watch the sunrise while doing mind and body exercises. Of course, there's always sunset as well.

No matter what travelers choose to do in the Maldives, it is sure to be a relaxing and invigorating experience.

Ilchi Lee believes that personal development can come from quiet relaxation in exotic destinations like the Maldives, which is remote and absolutely picturesque.

Event encourages adoption of Earth Citizen movement

Mar 23 2011 Published by under Healing Articles

For Ilchi Lee, the key to achieving world peace is for people from all corners of the globe to lay down their allegiance to specific religions, races, cultures and nationalities and begin identifying first and foremost as Earth Citizens. In furtherance of this goal, the author and philosopher has hosted many events on the topic.

For example, in March of 2001 he gathered spiritual leaders and interested individuals from several nations around the world to Mago Garden in Sedona, Arizona for the third Meeting with the Creator.

During the event, four speakers, including Ilchi Lee, talked about ways that people can live more fulfilling lives in the 21st century while working toward better themselves and the world around them.

Ilchi Lee's comments focused on his idea of what it means to be an Earth Citizen. He said that love for humanity and love for the Earth should be the motto of individuals who accept this calling in life.

The event was the third in a series of four Meeting with the Creator sessions that took place between 1999 and 2003.

Ilchi Lee founds institute for Korean studies

Mar 21 2011 Published by under Brain Education,Ilchi Lee Event

For centuries, technology, the arts and philosophy have progressed somewhat independently in Korea compared to the rest of the world. This has created a rich vein of culture that is unique to the peninsula. In order to share this one of a kind knowledge with the rest of the world, Ilchi Lee founded the Korean Institute for Cultural Studies in 2004.

On June 5, 2004, the center celebrated its launch with a ceremony in a four-story building in Cheonan City, South Korea. The proceedings marked the beginning of what would become a major hub of Korean thought.

The center offers lectures primarily concerning Korean history and Korean philosophy. It is intended to be on the front lines of a movement to for traditional Korean studies.

The culture has a lot to offer in the way of worthwhile studies. Ilchi Lee has said that many of the cornerstones of Korean culture, such as meditation, may be a step in the right direction in the world's pursuit of peace on Earth.

Symposium seeks to unlock human potential through brain education

Mar 18 2011 Published by under Brain Education,Ilchi Lee Event

In an effort to spread the word about the importance of brain education, Ilchi Lee has hosted or organized many events throughout the years that focus on brain wave vibrations and how individuals can use this achieve their full potential.

For example, in 2004, he hosted the International Brain Science Symposium. More than 600 participants gathered to discuss ways they can unlock their human potential and hear Ilchi Lee talk about brain wave vibration.

The theme of the event was Brain Science and its application for the 21st century humanity future. Many of those in attendance expressed the belief that brain education programs will come to play a very large role in the future.

As science unlocks more of the mysteries of the mind, humans may be able to take advantage of the findings to increase their potential and build a more harmonious society. This may involve a world where individuals have put aside their national, religious and cultural identities to live as true Earth Citizens.

Events like this serve to remind people of the importance of using their minds to achieve personal development.

Peace conference helps Ilchi Lee spread message of peace

Mar 14 2011 Published by under Brain Education

Ilchi Lee believes that the only way to bring about peace on Earth is for every individual to leave behind the false labels of religion, nationality and ethnicity that divide people and begin living in harmony as united citizens of the Earth. Only then can true world peace be achieved.

In furtherance of this goal, Ilchi Lee has hosted many events aimed at educating people on ways they live lives that foster peace and unity rather than division and conflict. For example, in 2003 he organized the Humanity Conference Earth Human Forum.

Many esteemed individuals attended the conference, including former Costa Rica President and Nobel Peace Laureate Oscar Arias Sanche, Senior Advisor to the Secretary General of the United Nations Maurice Strong and administrator of the Pulitzer Prizes Seymour Topping.

The goal of the conference was to discuss ways to organize a global cultural movement that could further the cause of connected living and peace among nations.

Ilchi Lee has hosted many such events focused on the cause of peace over the course of the years. Perhaps someday they will help substantiate his vision of a world that lives in harmony.

Ilchi Lee drives cross-country to lecture at MIT

Mar 10 2011 Published by under Brain Education,Ilchi Lee Event

When individuals think about the great halls of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, most would have images in their minds of engineers hard at work or chemists toiling in laboratories. However, people may not think about pursuits of spiritual healing.

Yet, in 2001, the school played host to Ilchi Lee as he delivered his message of health to a crowded audience. The event was part of his Healing Society Forum, in which the author and philosopher discusses with other intellectual and curious members of the public on the important role of spirituality in today's life.

The event was made even more remarkable by the circumstances under which it took place. It was held on September 16, 2001, just days after the horrific terrorist attacks that occurred in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania. During this period, all flights in the U.S. were grounded. In order to keep his appointment in Boston, Massachusetts, Ilchi Lee drove for 48 hours straight from Los Angeles, California.

This dedication allowed Ilchi Lee to bring his message of spiritual healing to the world renowned MIT and enabled him to share his inspiring stories.

Groups work for world peace

Mar 08 2011 Published by under Brain Education

With all the violence and fighting that pervades the media, it can be difficult to imagine that anyone cares about the cause of world peace anymore. Rather than coming together to celebrate common humanity, it seems that people are more interested in exploiting their differences to tear each other apart.

However, this is not necessarily the case. Ilchi Lee has organized many conferences to discuss with political and spiritual leaders from around the world ways to encourage greater peace, love and respect.

For example, in June of 2001 Ilchi Lee hosted the first World Peace Humanity Conference. More than 12,000 individuals from around the world came to the event to discuss ways to further the cause of peace. The meeting also resulted in the ratification of the Declaration of Peace, a document that lays out the rights and responsibilities of true Earth Citizens.

Former Vice President Al Gore, former editor of the New York Times Seymour Topping and civil rights activist Reverend Wyatt Tee Walker all attended the event.

While the media may play up instances of violence and destruction, individuals can feel assured that organizations are working to further the cause of world peace.

Conference outlines methods for achieving spiritual growth

Mar 02 2011 Published by under Brain Education,Ilchi Lee Event,World Peace

Given that there is so much hurting and strife in the world, it is no wonder that so many people feel adrift without any sense of life purpose. However, these individuals may take comfort in the fact that some groups are working to help them find a meaningful place in the world that gives them a chance to pursue their life dreams.

For example, on June 15, 2001, spiritual leaders from around the world met in Seoul, South Korea, to attend the New Millennium World Peace Humanity Conference. At the meeting, leaders talked about ways to bring humanity into the new millennium with a greater sense of connection and shared goals.

The event, which was organized by author and philosopher Ilchi Lee, resulted in the Declaration of Humanity. This document states that an Earth Citizen is a Spiritual Being, a Child of the Earth, a Healer, a Protector and an Activist.

Organizers, including Ilchi Lee, said that inspiring more people to pursue this type of lifestyle is one of the best ways to ensure greater peace throughout the coming years. It may also enable people to attain spiritual growth.
